What to expect at our Los Angeles dance convention
Parents often ask what their dancer will actually do all weekend. Much of the time is spent in the Classroom Series, extended 70-minute class sessions across multiple genres taught by our faculty. If your dancer is not competing, this is still a complete experience in its own right.
If your dancer is competing, they will have dedicated stage time in the Competition Experience and receive constructive critiques from faculty judges, with adjudication following the Amplified Rules and Regulations. To compete, dancers must be registered for the full Classroom Series at that same event as well. Entries are grouped into Sparks, Mini, Junior, Teen, Senior and Adult Division age groups. Mini through Senior dancers are welcome in the Audition Experience, where scholarship opportunities and Performance Crew selection are on offer, and the Performance Crew takes the stage in the closing SHOWCASE. Parents of dancers 16+ may want to join them at Propel: Future in Motion, a Classroom Series + forum on next steps after high school, while dancers 15+ can explore ACE (Amplified Continued Education). Before completing registration, make sure waivers are signed.
